Meet the Founder
ANDREW STEIER
Born and raised at the edge of the known world (aka North Dakota), Andrew’s future in ministry could only end up one of two ways: pastor’s kids either follow in their parent’s footsteps, or… not.
After a few years of mild rebellion, Andrew surrendered and dedicated his life to the Lord on the floor of a University of North Dakota dorm room.
While attending Columbia International University, Andrew met his wife, Autumn, and soon became the father of two perfectly-quirky kids, four cats, and ten chickens.
Deep in the trenches of student ministry, Andrew began to notice something about the teenagers in his care. They loved the Lord, engaged in worship, and came to church anytime the doors were unlocked, but as soon as they left the building, the practice of their faith seemed to evaporate. This stirred Andrew’s heart, and he began to wrestle with the question, “How can I help these kids activate their faith, both for themselves and those around them?”
Thus, in 2019, Student Gospel Outreach (later renamed Always Going as it expanded to include adults) was born. A ministry dedicated to helping followers of Jesus overflow as they go.
The aim is simple. We want to see those who have bent the knee to Christ Jesus encouraged, equipped, and empowered to live every moment of every day from a place of overflowing faith—faith that begins with love for God and cascades into a love for others that ultimately leads to sharing the gospel.
After years of solo ministry, Andrew is now the very proud and grateful Executive Director of the 4-person Always Going team. He lives each day pursuing faithfulness and obedience as God uses Always Going to serve churches, ministries, and communities.
In addition to his role at Always Going, Andrew is the Family Discipleship Pastor at Fathom Church in Jacksonville, FL and a Co-Pastor at Sawgrass Chapel—a gorgeous sunrise service held at the Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra, FL.
Andrew spends his time with family and friends playing games of all kinds (outdoor, board, and video), exercising, and rooting for the ever-rebuilding Miami Dolphins.
Our Staff Team
Rachel Paul
Ministry Operations Director
Rachel serves behind the scenes by owning the systems and execution that power the ministry and help the team operate with clarity and purpose. She attends Fathom Church in Jacksonville, where she leads the food pantry ministry and serves on the worship team on whatever instrument is needed that Sunday. Like her dog, Rachel enjoys the outdoors, plenty of exercise, and most vegetables.
Vanessa Kromer
Engagement Coordinator
Vanessa is the Engagement Coordinator at Always Going, helping bring the mission to life through connection, creativity, and consistency. She leads social media, supports the GO Leader community, and helps share content that encourages people to live out their faith in everyday moments. She is a wife and mom who loves to travel, read, and spend time with her cats.
Daniel Turner
Content Coordinator
Daniel primarily serves Always Going by developing both physical and digital resources like devotionals, booklets, and website content. He grew up in the Jacksonville area and now lives in Orlando with his wife, Katie, where he attends Reformed Theological Seminary. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, leather Bible rebinding, and rooting for the Jags (who are better than the Dolphins).
Advisory Board
Always Going is a subsidiary of Student Gospel Outreach, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Jacksonville, FL. As such, it submits to an advisory board for direction and accountability.
Kyle Nelson
Board Chair
Kyle has been a church planter and local pastor for over a decade. He has developed relationships with pastors all over the country and is a huge blessing to Always Going. Kyle helps primarily with our church connections and relationships in addition to keeping us grounded in a local church.
Dan Elkins
Vice Chair
Dan has nearly 20 years of experience as a student ministry pastor. He also intentionally ministers to dozens of pastors and leaders all around the state, guiding them as they develop their own unique ministries. Dan’s experience, wisdom, and relationships help Always Going reach and serve the right local churches.
Brad Deckard
Treasurer
Brad owns a local Jacksonville Veterinary hospital. He and his wife are huge supporters of student ministry as well as prioritizing the growth and success of young people by seeking them out to work at the clinic with him. Brad primarily provides fiscal accountability.
